The NTU Communications Department would like to thank everyone for their dedication in improving the student experience at NTU over the last year. One of the findings of our Enrollment Management Committee was that many of our students were experiencing hardship in completing their program, so we dedicated a lot of effort into providing resources to students in need (Emergency Aid, Paid Internships, GradReady), hosting community events to keep students engaged (Employment Expo, SkillsFest, Indigenous Heritage Month), and improving our own services (One-Stop-Shop, staffing Communications Department, implementing flat rate tuition for full-time students).
As a result, we've seen our retention improve this semester from 52% (spring '17-fall '17) to 60%. Both numbers are an improvement from our previous retention rate of 50% so we'd like to thank everyone for the effort in providing our students the best experience possible.
As mentioned in previous Project Success meetings, we're trying to RETHINK RETENTION from more of a semester to semester measure to a day-to-day measure. In doing so, we've been able to see some positive results. Thank you for your support.
