L.E.A.P. Summer Bridge Program
Yá’át’ééh and welcome!
Thank you for your interest in the Leadership, Enrichment, and Advancement Program (L.E.A.P.). We are excited to offer this new opportunity for students looking to get a head start on their college journey.
About L.E.A.P.
L.E.A.P. is an intensive summer bridge program for first-time university students enrolling with Navajo Technical University (NTU). L.E.A.P. introduces students to campus life before New Student Orientation by offering them extensive academic courses, an introduction to NTU resources and programs, a range of extracurricular activities and by connecting them with supportive peers and mentors. Students accepted into the program are designated as L.E.A.P. Scholars and receive full funding for lodging, meals, and supplies for the duration of the program. L.E.A.P. is coordinated by the Department of Student Services.
Dates for 2019 L.E.A.P.: June 24, 2019 to July 19, 2019
While L.E.A.P. is a free summer bridge program, here are some other benefits of attending:
- gain 9 college credits before the semester officially begins by taking College Success, English 098, and Math 098.
- meet staff members from programs like Financial Aid, Career Services, Student Services, and more that can serve as points of contact during your time at the University.
- live in Residence Halls and start building your community of friends and support.
- participate in extracurricular activities like off-campus trips, hiking, bonfire and storytelling, and much more!
The primary purpose of L.E.A.P. is to help admitted students succeed at NTU by easing your transition into college life. By attending classes, engaging with your peers, building friendships, getting to know campus staff and faculty, and building your leadership skills, L.E.A.P. will prepare you to soar into your first semester and beyond.
